Mr. Todd C. Commodore has been with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Division since 1995. Since December 2022, Mr. Commodore has served as an assistant section chief for the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Section.
From June 2014 to November 2022, Mr. Commodore served as the unit chief of NCIC Operations and Policy Unit and was responsible for the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) program. In that position, Mr. Commodore oversaw the full range of the NCIC system to include management of national NCIC policy, NCIC systems access, coordination of the concept design, and development and implementation of enhancements to the NCIC system.
From 2008-2014, Mr. Commodore served as unit chief of the CJIS Audit Unit and was responsible for national compliance to all CJIS Division programs. In this role, he coordinated more than 1,200 annual compliance reviews with local, state, tribal, and federal criminal justice and noncriminal justice agencies.
From 2003-2008, Mr. Commodore managed the Interstate Identification Index (III) and National Fingerprint File programs. While in this position, Mr. Commodore also served as the FBI’s Compact Officer which is an FBI Director appointed position. In this position, Mr. Commodore provided statutory guidance to state and federal agencies on the usage of the III system for noncriminal justice purposes. Additionally, Mr. Commodore provided lead FBI support to the National Crime Prevention and Privacy Compact Council.
