Dr. Richard K. "Dick" Peddicord

Dr. Richard K. “Dick” Peddicord has been a national leader in environmental assessment and management services to outdoor shooting ranges and the shooting sports community since 1986, when he conducted the environmental assessment for Remington Arms in the first major lawsuit involving environmental issues at shooting ranges. He lectured on environmental management of outdoor ranges at NRA’s Range Development and Operations Conferences from 1998 through the suspension of these meetings in 2020. Dr. Peddicord was a scientific peer reviewer of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's “Best Management Practices for Lead at Outdoor Shooting Ranges”. This is now national EPA policy for lead management, and is followed formally or informally by almost all states. Dr. Peddicord is the author of over 60 national and international scientific presentations, reports, and publications dealing with assessment and management of contaminants in the environment, including eleven specifically addressing shooting range issues.
