M. Carol Bambery
Carol Bambery is the chair of the NRA National Firearms Law Seminar's planning committee and the Seminar's moderator. She is an NRA Board member and serves on several board committees, including Bylaws (Chair), Women's Policies (Vice-Chair), and the Legal Affairs and Hearings committees. She also serves on the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund as Trustee and Vice-Chair.
For the past 12+ years, Ms. Bambery has served as General Counsel to the Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies (AFWA), the professional association for all 50 of the state fish and wildlife agencies. She is also board counsel to a 33-member board of directors for the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports, a nonprofit organization of CEO/Presidents for the major hunting and recreational shooting industry as well as counsel to the International Hunter Education Association and the Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners Foundation (also Vice-Chair). Ms. Bambery is also a law professor at Michigan State University Law College where she teaches wildlife law-related courses.
Ms. Bambery successfully argued Michigan's first challenges to its Firearm Preemption and Sport Shooting Range Protection Acts. She authored Michigan Firearm Laws, a common sense guide to owning a firearm in Michigan. For over 10 years, she also served as counsel to the Michigan United Conservation Clubs, representing 470+ conservation and gun clubs, and she is the former Chief of Legal Services and Legislative Director to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. She is co-founder and vice-president of Great Lakes Outdoor Foundation and a member of Safari Club International and the Boone and Crockett Club.
